Race Report: Willow Springs
International Raceway, July 2008
The EdoMoto race team made it
to the 6th round
of Honda Challenge at Willow Springs International Raceway in Rosamond,
CA. The previous 3 weeks had been
spent repairing the car from the Buttonwillow incident between another
HC racer. The front right
suspension parts were replaced along with the fender and front bumper.
The only job that there was no time left for was painting the
bumper and the fender.
Everything went perfectly well during the weekend as Edik
drove the revitalized Integra to fastest laps in all the sessions.
This gave him the pole on both days.
The starts of the races were standing to prepare for the
Nationals race in Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in September.
Edik launched the car ahead using his drag racing experience and
took a big lead in both races even after the caution laps on Sunday’s
race. Edik finished in a
convincing first place and brought the car back home without any damage
or problems. This helps the team
to prepare for the Nationals race as the August race has been cancelled
due to the weather.
Next step for the EdoMoto team is to build the new motor,
break it in, dyno tune it, and test the car to make sure everything is
in working condition to have the best chance possible at Mid-Ohio.
We would like to thank our sponsors for helping us get out to the
race track.
