After a disappointing finish at the NASA Nationals at the
Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in September
the Edo Motorsports team regrouped and
fixed the Integra back to shape in order
to finish the 2008 Socal season.
A lot of components were replaced
on the front of the car as the damage
was significant.
The points chase was still up for
grabs with EdoMoto driver Edik in first
followed closely by Benny and Manny.
The goal was to finish the
remaining races in order to stay in lead
and win the season championship
for the Honda Challenge H4 class.
The first set of races at Buttonwillow in October did not
fair well for team EdoMoto as a
transmission problem developed
throughout the weekend.
Edik was still able to qualify 3rd and
finish 2nd.
Sunday’s practice and qualifying
sessions were tough as 3rd gear
was no longer available.
Edik was still able to hold on to
4th place
for the first quarter of the race until
the car shut itself off.
This ended the race for Edik and
brought the point gap between him and
Benny closer.
With the last round of the season less than a month away, the
Integra was given a fresh transmission
along with the electrical gremlin taken
care of.
Aerodynamics were removed from
the vehicle as there was not enough time
to fabricate a splitter.
The last round started slow but consistent as Edik qualified
5th and
finished 5th to
lock himself in as the 2008 Southern
California Honda Challenge H4 champion.
Team Edo Motorsports wrapped up
the season with their 8th win
on Sunday after fabricating and
installing a splitter for the car.
Edik started in 5th position
again and worked his way up one-by-one
and taking the lead with only 2 laps
remaining.
This marks the 4th championship
out of 5 seasons for Edik and team Edo
Motorsports.
